Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID is seeking a dedicated Regional Director of Security to join the Security team!
The Director of Security & Regional Command Center provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for security services and command center operations across the health system. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, and compliant environment for patients, visitors, colleagues, providers, and organizational assets. The Director leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of system-wide security, emergency preparedness, workplace violence prevention, and access control programs.
The Director oversees Security and Regional Command Center personnel across multiple facilities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. This leader serves as a key advisor to executive and facility leadership on security, safety, emergency management, and operational readiness initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Security Services and Regional Command Center operations across the health system.
- Develop and implement system-wide security, safety, emergency preparedness, and workplace violence prevention programs.
- Ensure the safety of patients, visitors, providers, colleagues, and organizational assets across all facilities.
- Oversee security operations, access control, surveillance systems, visitor management, parking, and related security technologies.
- Direct emergency response, incident management, threat assessments, investigations, and disaster preparedness efforts.
- Partner with facility leadership, law enforcement, first responders, and external agencies to support security and safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission standards and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Manage departmental budgets, policies, resources, and security-related capital projects.
- Recruit, develop, and lead high-performing security and command center teams while fostering a culture of accountability and service excellence.

What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree required; 10 years of supervisory or management experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- FBI National Academy graduate preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of healthcare security and/or law enforcement experience required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Oregon DPSST Unarmed Security Professional and Executive Manager certifications.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required.
