Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting for a Senior Supply Chain Planning Analyst located in Irvine, CA.
The Senior Supply Chain Planning Analyst will play a key role in supporting the U.S.& Canada business through demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, and integrated business planning (IBP) activities for the assigned product portfolio.
This role will serve as a senior demand planning subject matter expert, responsible for developing and maintaining an accurate demand forecast by integrating historical trends, commercial insights, market intelligence, new product introductions, and business assumptions.
The Senior Supply Chain Planning Analyst will partner closely with Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, Global Planning, and other cross-functional stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities, develop planning scenarios, and translate business intelligence into actionable demand and inventory plans.The role is accountable for supporting key supply chain performance indicators including forecast accuracy, forecast bias, inventory levels, Weeks of Supply (WOS), Slow Moving and Obsolete inventory (SLOB), product availability, and customer service performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand Planning & Forecasting & Inventory Management
Own and maintain the demand forecast for the assigned U.S. & Canada product portfolio across appropriate short-, medium-, and long-term planning horizons.
Develop a statistically and commercially informed forecast using historical demand, sales trends, market intelligence, customer dynamics, promotional activity, new product introductions, product lifecycle assumptions, and commercial inputs.
Lead the monthly demand planning cycle for the assigned portfolio, ensuring assumptions, risks, opportunities, and forecast changes are clearly documented and communicated.
Analyze forecast performance using metrics including MAPE, forecast accuracy, forecast bias, and forecast value-add, and identify root causes of forecast error.
Identify demand trends, changes in customer behavior, unusual consumption patterns, and emerging risks or opportunities requiring forecast adjustment.
Challenge commercial assumptions and historical trends when appropriate to develop an objective, data-driven consensus demand plan.
Facilitate cross-functional demand review discussions with Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and other business partners.
Reconcile and explain differences between the demand plan, operational plan, and financial plan.
Develop demand scenarios and sensitivity analyses to support business decisions and communicate potential upside and downside risks.
Support development and execution of inventory strategies for the assigned portfolio, balancing customer service requirements, business growth, supply constraints, and working capital objectives.
Monitor inventory performance including gross and net inventory dollars, Days of Supply, safety stock, excess inventory, Slow Moving and Obsolete inventory (SLOB), and inventory at risk.
Recommend appropriate inventory targets and planning parameters based on demand variability, lead times, service requirements, lifecycle stage, and supply risk.
Support establishment and periodic review of safety stock levels and inventory policies.
Identify excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory risks and partner with cross-functional teams to develop mitigation and inventory reduction actions.
Proactively identify potential inventory shortages or service risks and recommend corrective actions.
Evaluate the inventory impact of forecast changes, new product introductions, discontinuations, supply constraints, and commercial initiatives.
Integrated Business Planning / S&OP
Play a key role in the U.S. & Canada Demand IBP process by preparing demand analyses, forecast recommendations, risks, opportunities, and scenarios for business review.
Provide clear analytical insights and recommendations to support management decision-making during IBP and planning reviews.
Support alignment between demand, supply, inventory, commercial, and financial plans.
Identify significant gaps between forecast, sales, inventory, operational, and financial expectations and work cross-functionally to resolve them.
Translate complex planning data into clear business insights and actionable recommendations.
New Product & Lifecycle Planning
Support demand and inventory planning for new product introductions, product transitions, phase-outs, and discontinuations.
Develop initial demand assumptions and forecast scenarios for new products in partnership with Marketing, Commercial, Finance, and Global Planning.
Monitor actual launch performance against assumptions and rapidly adjust forecasts and inventory plans as new information becomes available.
Develop inventory transition strategies to minimize excess and obsolete inventory during product lifecycle changes.
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
Create and utilize advanced analytical tools and reporting to support forecasting, inventory optimization, issue resolution, and business decision-making.
Conduct root-cause analyses of forecast error, inventory deviations, service issues, and other planning performance gaps.
Identify and implement improvements to demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, IBP processes, planning parameters, and analytical capabilities.
Leverage planning systems, ERP data, Excel, and analytical tools to improve planning accuracy, efficiency, and visibility.
Support automation and standardization of recurring planning analyses and reporting.
Provide senior-level planning expertise and guidance to other analysts and cross-functional partners.
Qualifications:
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree, MBA, APICS certification, or IBF certification is preferred.
Experience & Skills – Required
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, forecasting, inventory planning, supply planning, S&OP/IBP, or related functions.
Strong hands-on experience in demand planning and forecasting.
Demonstrated ability to develop, analyze, and improve demand forecasts for complex product portfolios.
Strong understanding of forecast accuracy measurements including MAPE and forecast bias.
Experience managing or analyzing inventory including Days of Supply, safety stock, excess inventory, and SLOB.
Experience conducting demand, inventory, and business scenario analyses.
Strong understanding of integrated business planning / S&OP processes and the relationship between demand, supply, inventory, and financial plans.
Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain interactions and planning interdependencies.
Strong understanding of planning system functionality, planning parameters, net requirements, and integration with supply chain processes.
Experience with MRP, APS, ERP, and/or demand planning systems.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
Preferred
Experience with SAP, JDE, SQL, Anaplan, Blue Yonder, Power BI, or similar planning and analytical tools.
Experience within Medical Device, Healthcare, Life Sciences, or another regulated industry.
Experience supporting new product introductions and product lifecycle transitions.
APICS and/or IBF certification.
Experience with advanced forecasting methodologies and statistical forecasting tools.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$79,000.00 - $127,650.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
