Job Description:
This job is responsible for managing complex to high risk cross-functional and/or inter-departmental programs or projects for Line of Business products, processes, functions, and employee readiness. Key responsibilities include partnering with the business to develop a plan to sustain change, evaluate current methods, and drive strategies to implement changes/improvements. Job expectations include serving as the primary point of contact to department managers for critical change initiatives, using tools to document program performance, and influencing stakeholders to make strategic changes.
The Senior Project Manager will be a member of the Chief People Organization (CPO) Change Execution team and will lead complex initiatives across CPO. This role is accountable for disciplined project execution, clear delivery documentation, proactive risk and dependency management, and effective coordination across business, technology, vendor, and control partners. Successful candidates bring a process-oriented mindset, using curiosity, root-cause analysis, and structured problem solving to translate ambiguity into actionable plans, sustainable outcomes, and well-managed transitions.
Responsibilities:
Defines responsibilities and accountabilities for key project roles and oversees the execution of defined programs and/or project tasks through tracking of deliverables and their statuses, developing project plans, and measuring progress against ongoing key performance indicators
Leads the adoption and sustainment of change initiatives and assesses adoption risks
Leads remediation requirements documentation efforts based on identified gaps and controls needed for sustained performance
Leads and plans programs and projects using appropriate tools and techniques, including Technology platforms used by client facing employees, change management tools, and risk and issue management tools to ensure efficient and effective project completion
Develops, maintains, and reports on an overall integrated delivery plan, raising any risks, developing a mitigation plan, and escalating issues appropriately to respective stakeholders
CPO Specific Responsibilities:
Leads complex, cross-functional initiatives by integrating business, technology, vendor, and control partners into a clear delivery plan with defined scope, schedule, outcomes, owners, dependencies, decision points, readiness activities, and transition needs.
Applies Enterprise Change Management and CPO delivery standards with minimal oversight, maintaining accurate project artifacts and enterprise systems of record to support governance, reporting, and decision-making.
Anticipates risks, issues, and dependencies, identifies root causes, and translates complex inputs into clear recommendations, decisions, and mitigation plans to protect delivery outcomes.
Uses process mapping, structured problem solving, and current-state analysis to clarify ambiguity, surface improvement opportunities, and shape practical delivery actions.
Communicates clearly across project teams, peers, business partners, and leadership, tailoring messages to drive alignment, accountability, and timely decisions.
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of project management experience leading complex, cross-functional change initiatives, including process improvement, technology change, adoption, and engagement activities, or equivalent experience.
Experience managing large-scale initiatives with interconnected business, process, technology, vendor, and control impacts.
Demonstrated ability to apply Enterprise Change Management policies, standards, tools, and governance expectations with minimal oversight.
Experience building and managing integrated delivery plans, including scope, schedule, outcomes, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and critical-path activities.
Ability to create clear project documentation, artifacts, and decision records that support delivery discipline, stakeholder alignment, governance, and execution follow-through.
Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills, with the ability to tailor status, options, impacts, and recommendations for project teams, peers, business partners, and leadership.
Proven ability to influence decisions, resolve issues, reduce ambiguity and conflict, and drive alignment across complex stakeholder groups in a matrixed environment.
Demonstrated analytical and process-oriented mindset, including the ability to evaluate current-state processes, identify root causes, and translate improvement opportunities into practical delivery actions.
Ability to manage competing priorities and changing circumstances while protecting delivery outcomes, timelines, controls, and stakeholder commitments.
Demonstrated ability to share best practices, mentor other project managers, and contribute to improved delivery quality across projects or teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools and related project management applications, with a willingness to adopt emerging technologies.
Desired Qualifications:
Project management, process improvement, Agile, Six Sigma, or equivalent delivery methodology experience.
Experience working within complex enterprise governance, risk, control, or change-management frameworks.
Experience delivering change within Human Resources, employee-facing products, service delivery, or operational processes.
Experience leading geographically dispersed or global project teams.
