Job Description

As a Security Officer Temporary Housing in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Temporary Housing . As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a Housing location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will deliver exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to concerns while reflecting Allied Universal’s caring, reliable, and integrity-driven culture.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers at a shelter location while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related responsibilities.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as required.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior common areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and help maintain orderly entry and exit activity.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and shift activities accurately; communicate relevant information to site leadership and incoming personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
