The Client Portfolio Manager (CPM) serves as a key bridge between Manulife Investment Management Malaysia's investment professionals, distribution teams, and clients. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the CPM helps deliver an exceptional client experience by translating investment strategies, market insights, and portfolio performance into clear, compelling, and client-focused communications. The role supports a broad range of client engagement and business development activities, including client meetings, investment presentations, portfolio reviews, and prospect discussions. As a trusted representative of the investment team, the CPM plays a critical role in strengthening client relationships, enhancing investor confidence, and showcasing the value of Manulife Investment Management's capabilities.
Position Responsibilities:
Articulation and dissemination of key investment performance and strategy contents to internal and external clients, via meetings, calls, presentations, email correspondences or other suitable channels. Analysis and interpretation of investment performance and attribution are required.
Work with Marketing and Sales Administration team to develop marketing collateral including product/fund presentations, brochures and other relevant materials by providing investment-related input and perspective. This applies to funds/strategies managed by MIM.
Work with Marketing to ensure that investment insights and views from MIM Malaysia investment team is delivered to both internal and external audiences via investment commentaries, notes, thought pieces and other suitable materials.
Maintain RFP/database content and material for strategies managed by MIM Malaysia investment team, to be used for communications of investment strategy content, RFPs and pitches.
Assist in the answering, editing and completing requests for proposals and questionnaires (from base template or in response to RFPs) accurately and in a timely manner for strategies/funds managed by MIM Malaysia investment team.
Directly interact with key personnel across MIM Malaysia as well as clients and prospects in a highly professional manner.
To represent Investment team in supporting other activities such as new product development or providing input into other team projects and initiatives.
Conduct research and analysis on foreign exchange market and provide opinions /recommendations /commentaries on foreign exchange market trends and outlook.
Conduct research and analysis on macro economy and provide opinions /recommendations /commentaries on broad economic trends and outlook.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience of working in an investment, client portfolio manager, investment advisory role, preferably in an investment management company.
Understanding/knowledge of investments and financial markets (equity and/or fixed income), with well-developed analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with various groups within the organization.
Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbally.
Preferred Qualifications:
CFA/CAIA designation will be an added advantage.
