Overview
As a Senior Project Architect/ Senior Project Technical Designer, you will be the technical lead on complex, medium to large-scale architectural projects. As a core project team, you will own the technical execution of assigned projects from inception through completion. You will deeply understand the entire design process, from schematic design to construction administration, and require advanced judgment in evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard techniques and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading and owning the technical execution of complex medium and large-sized projects.
- Responsible for actively and regularly partnering with design and management leaders to execute the project, coordinate resources and integrate inputs from inception to completion.
- Leading member of the project team in all aspects of project scope - informing the workplan, supporting design, complying with jurisdictional requirements, leading and producing content for all phases of documentation, overseeing construction administration services and coordinating with outside consultants.
- Direct and mentor teams, fostering a collaborative environment
- Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions.
- Responsible for ensuring that the production of construction documents is in concert with design intent, responsible for project schedules and budgets.
- Conduct code analyses and act as a point of contact with jurisdictions.
- Assist in managing client expectations.
- Coordinates communication between project teams, subcontractors, and other disciplines.
- Conducts on-site observations and prepares architect’s field reports.
- Responsible for document coordination and design detailing.
- Coordinates between project teams and leads technical team assignments to complete interior design and/or architectural projects.
- Creates project designs and plans for all phases of projects and coordinates building design consultants while monitoring drawings.
- Coordinates all trades and agencies related to building design while monitoring drawings.
- Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments.
- Plans and develops interior design and/or architectural projects significantly impacting major company programs.
- Responsible for document coordination and design detailing.
- Performs submittal reviews during construction, maintains RFI, and submittal logs.
- Exploration of subject area, definition of scope, selection of items for investigation, and development of novel concepts and methods.
- Resolve complex technical/design issues and provide guidance to the team.
- Use advanced techniques and modification/extension of theories, precepts, and practices.
- Performs work requiring advanced judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation/ modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Develops solutions and creates project design plans for complex client needs. Initiates project plans for all phases of one or more projects and is responsible for preparing presentation and design support drawings.

- Advanced experience with building codes, ADA requirements, zoning and generally knowledgeable in jurisdictional processes.

Requirements
- Professional degree in architecture or interior design from an accredited university.
- Design professional with (typically) eight plus years of experience in commercial interior design and/or architecture.
