UX Lead — Digital Experience & Website Migration (credit unions)

Role summary

The Canadian-based UX Lead owns the member and content experience for the credit union (CU) public website portion of the Forge migration. This person ensures the project isn't treated as a simple “lift and shift” from OpenText to a new CMS. They lead the CU in understanding what to retain, redesign, simplify, or retire, and help define the target digital experience across the public website, digital banking, account opening, and other member journeys.

The ideal candidate combines strong UX/product strategy with financial-services experience and is comfortable working directly with CU executives, marketing, digital, technology and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead discovery and experience strategy for public website/CMS migrations.
• Assess the current Forge/OpenText website experience, information architecture, content structure, navigation and member journeys.
• Identify opportunities to modernize rather than simply recreate the existing website.
• Map important journeys across public website, digital banking, account opening, products, calculators, branch/ATM services and other digital touchpoints.
• Develop personas, journey maps, service blueprints, information architecture and experience principles where appropriate.
• Lead content and navigation strategy with CU marketing and digital teams.
• Translate business objectives into measurable experience outcomes such as lead generation, account-opening conversion, digital adoption, accessibility and member satisfaction.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and detailed interaction specifications.
• Partner closely with the CMS Technical Lead to ensure the experience is practical within the selected platform.
• Partner with the Front-End Lead to maintain design quality through implementation.
• Establish or evolve the CU’s design system and reusable component library.
• Ensure WCAG/accessibility requirements are incorporated from the beginning.
• Support usability testing and stakeholder validation.
• Participate in executive workshops and help AEQ position the website within the broader Forge transformation.

Ideal background

• 8+ years in UX, product design, or digital experience.
• Experience leading complex website redesigns or CMS migrations.
• Strong portfolio of enterprise or financial-services digital experiences.
• Experience with banking, credit unions, insurance or other regulated industries strongly preferred.
• Understanding of CMS-driven component design and design systems.
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Knowledge of accessibility, responsive design, SEO implications, and analytics.
• Ability to work at both strategic and detailed design levels.

Compensation: $70/h-$100/h depending on skillset and expertise.
