GENERAL FUNCTION:

Leads and oversees the documentation, funding, and booking of transactions for the Leasing Company's lease and loan portfolio. Manages and directs all aspects of a multiple stage process to facilitate the closing and funding of complex middle market - large ticket lease transactions. Manages all pre-funding administration, including documentation creation, and review. Also, in conjunction with the Sales Team, accountable for the negotiation of complex transactions. Coordinates approvals from appropriate functional areas for transactions outside the norm to insure that regulatory compliance is met, and the bank's interests are protected. Responsible for the accurate and timely booking and funding of transactions. Oversees documentation negotiations with third party sources and investors for transactions that are bought or sold. Also, accountable for tracking and following up on documentation exceptions.

While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working closely with the Sales team, oversees transaction documentation preparation. Insures that appropriate documentation is prepared for transactions in a timely and accurate manner. Verifies that the system can handle the transaction structures accurately.
  • Assists Sales Team with documentation negotiation and supervises the follow up for complete documentation packages.
  • Works directly with the Sales team to negotiate the larger, more complex transactions.
  • Insures that, if documentation is negotiated, it meets all Fifth Third Leasing requirements and is submitted for legal, accounting, and tax review as required, to protect the interests of Fifth Third Leasing and the Bank.
  • Coordinates with other leasing staff, as required, to verify pricing, special credit requirements, residual positions, return provisions, etc.
  • Supervises the funding and booking process. Responsible for the accuracy of all information to be input into the system to insure correct booking of transactions.
  • Works closely with indirect sources of transactions to coordinate the timely and complete receipt of transaction documentation, as well as all sale/assignment documentation.
  • Works closely with Syndications investors prior to funding to ensure that the transaction is documented correctly and completely to expedite sales of transactions. Insures transactions are correctly booked on the system to facilitate servicing and avoid future reconciliation issues.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • 10 plus years related work experience in the leasing Industry.
  • 2-5 years of Direct Doc Team Lead experience is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, & Access.
  • InfoLease experience preferred.
  • Legal Background a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree required (Business or finance emphasis preferred).
  • Strong Customer Service Orientation.
  • Excellent analytical ability.
  • Understanding of varied lease structures and corresponding complex documentation.

Total Base Pay Range 96,500.00 - 207,500.00 USD Annual

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
