Program Protection / Critical Program Information (CPI) Specialist
The Program Protection / CPI Specialist supports Army acquisition programs with a primary focus on identifying, managing, and protecting Critical Program Information (CPI) and implementing horizontal protection across programs and stakeholders. This role requires close coordination with all CPEs to ensure all organic and inherited CPI is accurately loaded into the Acquisition Security Database (ASDB), tracked, and protected. The position also supports development and staffing of Program Protection Plans (PPPs).
Location: Onsite 3-5 days a week
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with all CPEs to load all organic and inherited CPI into the Acquisition Security Database (ASDB)
- Ensure CPI is accurately identified, documented, and maintained to support horizontal protection across programs
- Support programs by drafting PPPs for milestone decisions across various acquisition adaptive pathways
- Review and provide substantive feedback on PPPs during HQ staffing
- Pilot OUSW(R&E)-provided Guided PPP and ePPP tools and provide user feedback on improvement opportunities and pain points
- Collaborate with ARTPC and OUSW(R&E) on improvements and additional capability for the ASDB
- Draft the Army playbook for Program Protection with emphasis on CPI management and horizontal protection practices
- Set topics and facilitate the monthly Program Protection
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Engineering or technical background with strong CPI and horizontal protection expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Active Secret clearance
- 5+ years of experience implementing governance with federal stakeholders and 2+ year working with the Department of War to implementing governance
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional with engineering or technical background
- Strong working knowledge of CPI identification, documentation, and horizontal protection
- Experience coordinating across CPEs, acquisition security functions, and program protection stakeholders
- Familiarity with ASDB, PPP development, and Army acquisition processes
- Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills
