ADAC has developed a drug and alcohol program which provides quality and supportive service to those individuals, families and significant others who are in need of understanding their substance abuses or those of others.

Every person coming through the door is treated as an individual person with individual needs. Not everyone has the same issues, patterns, concerns, viewpoint or ideas.

The main goal of treatment is abstinence. This is not always the philosophy of the patient, but one that is necessary for success.

The Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) provides supervised support in the delivery of substance use disorder (SUD) services, including screening, assessment support, case management, psychoeducation, and coordination of care. This position is designed for individuals working toward certification or licensure in alcohol and drug counseling and operates under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician in accordance with Maryland state regulations. The ADT plays a key role in engaging individuals and families, supporting recovery-oriented services, and assisting with linkage to community resources.
 

The Certified Supervised Counselor – Alcohol and Drug (CSC-AD) provides direct substance use disorder (SUD) counseling and case management services under clinical supervision. This role is designed for individuals who have obtained CSC-AD certification and are working toward full licensure (LGADC/LCADC).

The CSC-AD is responsible for delivering evidence-based interventions, facilitating individual and group counseling, and supporting individuals and families through recovery. Services are provided in accordance with Maryland regulations, ethical standards, and agency policies.

Requirements

Education:

Experience:

• Knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery principles
• Ability to provide counseling services under supervision
• Designation or License/certification issued by the State of Maryland as an ADT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGPC, LCADC, LCPC, LCADC (REQUIRED) -- open to candidates who have already applied for certification or are currently interns for such certifications discussed above.
• Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or human services (preferred)
• Knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented practices (preferred)
