Summary:

Reporters/researchers in the Investigative Reporting Workshop (IRW) will work with publishing partners on a variety of subjects. Subjects include, but are not limited to, immigration, public health, and law enforcement. IRW Interns report directly to the Executive Editor of the IRW, and will interact with other staff, students, faculty, and consultants of the IRW.

Essential Functions:

• Support IRW’s investigations: Contribute to one or more investigative reports; Request and gather public information; Develop journalistic stories.

• Handle daily data work for the various data-driven journalism projects within the IRW; Check the accuracy and validity of data analysis used in projects; Clean and analyze received data.

• Other duties as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Part-time.

• 15 - 20 hours per week.

• This is a temporary part-time position.

• Continuation of the program/position is contingent upon external funding.

Salary Range:

• $22.50 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

• 1 - 3 years of relevant experience.
