Department Details

The Video Monitoring team plays a vital role in supporting patient safety across the Marshfield Clinic Region, serving patients in eleven hospitals. As a Monitor Technician (Video), you will act as an extension of the care team by providing continuous video observation of patients who require additional monitoring to remain safe. Using advanced video surveillance technology, you will closely observe patient activity, recognize potential safety concerns, and promptly notify nursing staff when a patient requires assistance or intervention. Your attentiveness and timely communication help prevent falls, self-harm, and other safety events while supporting positive patient outcomes across the organization.

In this role, you will continuously monitor designated patients through live video feeds, follow established observation protocols and response algorithms, and interpret concerning behaviors or alarming events that require escalation. You may provide verbal redirection to help patients avoid at-risk behaviors and will collaborate closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate follow-up. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in healthcare without providing direct patient care. Success requires strong observation and communication skills, sound judgment, sustained attention, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality. We provide the training, tools, and support needed to succeed in a rewarding role where your vigilance and professionalism help keep patients safe every day.
