As a Sr. Financial Analyst in Reporting and Analytics you will:
- Manage and support FP&A intake requests through a dedicated Slack channel, partnering with stakeholders to assess business questions, analyze financial impacts and key performance drivers, and deliver concise, actionable insights related to:
- Weekly business results
- Trade-off decisions
- Changes in business or systematic process
- Develop into a retail accounting expert and educate partners, across all levels, on the calculations, metrics, system flows and processes.
- Process allocation entries to enhance the accuracy or granularity of financial data.
- Partner with teams across FP&A, Accounting, Planning, Merchandising, Data Product, and Technology to simplify, standardize, and automate financial reporting and analytical processes.
- Represent Financial Planning and Analysis point of view in cross-functional business and system initiatives.
- Support the Target legal team by providing item profitability data and consultation.
- Design, implement, and maintain data validation and quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data and reporting outputs.
- Evaluate and leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance reporting, analytics, documentation, and team productivity, while identifying opportunities to automate manual activities.
- Create, maintain, and continuously improve process documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge management resources to support operational excellence.
- Develop and deliver onboarding materials, training resources, and knowledge transfer sessions to accelerate new team member onboarding and enable consistent execution across FP&A.
- Champion a culture of innovation by piloting new tools, sharing best practices, and driving adoption of modern analytics and AI capabilities across the FP&A organization.
About you:
- 4-Year college degree – Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics
- Minimum 4 - 6 years of business experience
- Experience with data validation, financial controls, and data governance concepts.
- Curiosity and willingness to explore and adopt AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and business outcomes.
- Experience developing documentation, training materials, or onboarding resources.
- Demonstrated experience driving process improvement, automation, or operational excellence initiatives.
- Strong communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly driven with ownership mindset
- Proven decision-making and influencing skills
- Proficient in SSAS, SQL, Power BI or similar tools
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
