Description
Director of Product Management
About Arango:
Arango delivers a unified, natively multimodel contextual data platform that powers AI agents, assistants, and applications with the unified, current, and trusted business context needed to reason, decide, and act at scale.
The Arango Contextual Data Platform connects fragmented enterprise data with LLMs, copilots, and AI agents through a simplified architecture delivered out of the box. By combining graph, vector, document, key-value, and search capabilities in a single platform, Arango eliminates the complex stacks many organizations build to operationalize enterprise AI.
Trusted by organizations including NVIDIA, HPE, the London Stock Exchange, PSI CRO, the U.S. Air Force, NIH, Siemens, Transient.AI, Matpriskollen, and Articul8, Arango helps enterprises move from AI pilots to reliable production systems faster while lowering infrastructure complexity and total cost of ownership. Arango is a proud member of the NVIDIA Inception Program and the AWS ISV Accelerate Program. Learn more at arango.ai, LinkedIn, and G2.
Location
Bay Area. While this is a work-from-home role, some travel may be required.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Director, Product Management based in Europe (Germany or the Netherlands preferred) to own and drive product strategy for Arango's platform. This is a highly cross-functional, customer-facing leadership role at the intersection of product, go-to-market, and customer success. You will be the connective tissue between our customers, our field teams, and our Area Product Owners (APOs) — translating market signal into a crisp product strategy and translating our product story into commercial momentum.
You'll define where we win, sharpen how we're differentiated, and make sure the entire organization — Sales, Pre-Sales, Marketing, Support, and Implementation — can articulate and deliver Arango's value with clarity and confidence. If you're energized by owning outcomes, working close to customers, and helping shape a category as it forms, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and roadmap. Define and own the product strategy, roadmap, competitive positioning, and value proposition for Arango's platform. Set a clear direction that balances customer needs, market opportunity, and technical reality — and keep it current as the market moves.
- Be the voice of the customer. Lead deep customer engagement to capture requirements, understand use cases, and validate direction. Build a durable feedback loop that collects, curates, and prioritizes feature requests, product issues, and feedback from Customers, Pre-Sales, Sales, and Marketing — turning raw signal into a prioritized, defensible plan.
- Enable go-to-market to sell. Partner with GTM teams to effectively enable Sales, Pre-Sales, and Marketing to position and sell Arango's products. Arm the field with crisp messaging, differentiation, value maps, and product narratives that shorten sales cycles and raise win rates.
- Drive customer success and ROI realization. Work with Support and Implementation teams to ensure customer go-lives, use cases, and realization of ROI are effectively captured, quantified, and communicated — internally and back to the market as proof points and customer stories.
- Shape packaging, pricing, and positioning. Collaborate cross-functionally with Area Product Owners, Documentation, and Platform teams to define and refine product bundles, pricing strategies, value mapping, and feature positioning.
- Run competitive intelligence. Conduct ongoing competitive scans to ensure Arango's products remain differentiated and evolve quickly. Translate competitive insight into positioning, roadmap priorities, and field enablement.
- Communicate change broadly. Work with APOs to ensure new features, new releases, and changes that address customer issues or feature requests are communicated broadly and clearly across Sales, Marketing, and Customers — so nothing of value gets lost between engineering and the market.
- Represent Arango externally. Attend industry events, briefings, and customer meetings to communicate and position Arango's products effectively and build the company's presence in the European market and beyond.
What You'll Bring
- 5–10 years of experience in Product Management / Product Development, Pre-Sales, or Product Marketing, ideally in enterprise software, data infrastructure, databases, analytics, or AI/ML.
- Outstanding communication skills — able to influence effectively both internally and externally, present at events, and position technical products to technical and business audiences alike.
- Proven ability to collaborate across a distributed organization — APOs, Sales, Pre-Sales, and Marketing — to land a crisp, shared go-to-market and product-success strategy.
- A background in technology or software development environments is highly desirable; comfort with technical concepts (graph, vector, search, GenAI / agentic architectures) is a strong plus.
- Ability to work across distributed teams and time zones, and willingness to travel 30–40% for events, customers, and strategic initiatives.
- Proficiency in one or more European languages is preferred.
