Description
We are looking for Network technicians with 3+ years’ experience within Germany in Dispatch/On-Demand basis. Core technical skills Physical infrastructure (the bulk of the role)Rack & stack: mounting switches, routers, firewalls, APs, PDUs; rail kits, cage nuts, torque, ESD disciplineStructured cabling: Cat5e/6/6A termination, patching, RJ45 crimping, keystone/patch panel work, cable management and dressingFibre: LC/SC/MPO handling, cleaning, polarity, transceiver install (SFP/SFP+/QSFP/QSFP28), DOM checks, bend-radius disciplinePower: A/B feed awareness, PDU port mapping, C13/C14/C19 leads, UPS basicsDevice swaps: like-for-like replacement, DOA/RMA handling, serial capture, packaging and return logisticsNetwork fundamentals (enough to be useful, not to own config)DHCP/DNS basics, default gateway, ARP, basic STP awarenessConsole/CLI access: serial cable, PuTTY/SecureCRT, loading a config file, show commands, password recovery, IOS/firmware upload under supervisionWireless: AP mounting, orientation, mounting heights, PoE injectors, basic RF awareness.Vendor exposureCisco Catalyst/Nexus/ISR, Meraki, Aruba/HPE, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto — at physical/L1 levelFamiliarity with rack elevations, as-built drawings, port mapsToolingFluke cable certifier or equivalent, toner/probe, light source & power meter (OTDR for fibre-heavy scopes), crimpers/punch-down, label printer (Brady/Dymo), laptop with console adapter, basic hand tools, ladder/PPE.Process & delivery skillsServiceNow (or client ITSM) — ticket updates, worklogs, closure notes, evidence photosAsset/CMDB accuracy: serials, asset tags, location, port mappingNon-technical requirements (these decide placement more often than the tech)Preferable but not mandatory: Valid driving licence and own vehicle; willingness to travel between sitesLocal language at business level plus English (for Germany, B2–C1 as you already spec)Customer-facing manner, lone working, site induction complianceOut-of-hours, standby/callout and weekend change window availabilityRight to work, background/security screening; site-specific clearance where applicableH&S: working at height, ladder safety, PPE, LOTO and permit-to-work for factory/OT environments CertificationsBaseline: CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCT Routing & Switching.
