The School of Business and Economics (SBE) at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for a course in Sports Business Fundamentals for the spring 2027 semester.

This course is part of the undergraduate curriculum (Sports Analytics - SPRT and specialized master’s program concentration) and may include topics such as:

• Survey of the sports industry at professional and/or collegiate team and league levels
• Detail budgeting and finance considerations specific to sports entities
• Understand venue, scheduling and team operations and processes
• Illustrate human resources required to successfully manage and operate the business
• Feature partnerships and government regulations

Courses are designed to provide students with the foundational knowledge of sports as a business.  Subsequent courses will build on these fundamentals to utilize sports analytics to create a data-driven decision framework for analyzing sports business use cases.

This particular course can be taught using case-based and/or experiential learning methods (including case discussions, simulations, and applied projects), and emphasize active student participation. Course assignments and scheduling will depend on program needs and instructor expertise.

Candidates should have a minimum qualification of a Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in strategy, sports management, finance, or a related field, along with relevant professional and/or teaching experience. We particularly welcome applicants with industry experience in sports, consulting, technology, innovation management, corporate strategy, entrepreneurship, or related fields. Experience teaching using case-based or experiential methodologies is strongly preferred.

Compensation for this position is between $9,00 to $10,000 depending on qualifications.

This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
