SOC Analyst (L1)

About the Role

KalSoft is looking for an SOC Analyst (L1) to support security monitoring and incident handling during non-business hours, weekends, and holidays. The role involves monitoring security events, identifying and escalating incidents, maintaining accurate SOC records, and supporting L2 Analysts and SOC management.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor security events during non-business hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Detect, analyze, investigate, and report qualified security incidents as per defined SLAs.
• Provide actionable recommendations for reported security incidents.
• Respond to queries regarding active or closed incidents.
• Escalate incidents promptly to the Shift Lead or L2 Analyst when required.
• Identify and escalate anomalies discovered during routine system-health checks.
• Send planned system notifications and maintenance alerts to the relevant team.
• Maintain detailed incident, escalation, and shift-handover logs.
• Support the L2 Analyst and SOC Manager in preparing daily and weekly monitoring summaries.

Deliverables

• Shift-based monitoring, escalation, and incident-summary reports.
• Comprehensive and up-to-date incident and escalation records.
• Notification and communication logs shared with security focal points.

Requirements

• Entry-level candidate with an interest in Security Operations and SOC activities.
• Basic understanding of security monitoring, incident detection, investigation, and escalation.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work during non-business hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• CompTIA Security+ / CompTIA CySA+ / CEH certification.
• Ability to follow defined SLAs, procedures, and escalation processes.
