Student Event Assistant - Lang Arts

The New School was founded by forward-thinking educators in 1919 to defy the intellectual constraints of a traditional college education. We are seeking student employees to support Lang Arts and large scale productions in various roles. Working some evenings and weekends is required as a portion of Lang Events take place in the evening.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• In-person day-of event support
• Checking in attendees using Splash event registration tool (app)
• Other assigned duties to support Lang Arts productions/events, such as assisting Lang Arts staff/Stage Manager with the transition between student performance pieces

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Matriculated New School student
• Organizational skills
• Ability to occasionally carry/move items 40+ lbs
• Available up to 5 hours per week

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in a theater production/arts space
• Attentive to detail
• Federal Work-Study Awardee preferred

WORK MODE

On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. #LI-DNI

Hourly Rate: $19 an hour

Responsibilities:

Students will assist in various support roles for Lang Arts live events including but not limited to running guest check-in utilizing Splash, ushering attendees to their seats, and assisting the production stage manager with performance transitions and costuming.
