We are seeking a Lead Material Handler who will be responsible for the movement, storage, and documentation of materials, parts, and finished goods within a warehouse/production facility. This role performs the same core duties as a Material Handler while providing day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to the Material Handling team.
Shift: Monday – Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all Material Handler duties, including receiving, inspecting, labeling, storing, pulling, staging, and delivering materials.
- Accurately prepare customer orders for shipment and load/unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
- Perform physical inventory and cycle counts.
- Report material discrepancies, damage, shortages, and other issues.
- Provide day-to-day direction, guidance, and support to Material Handlers.
- Help coordinate daily workloads and ensure production and shipping needs are met.
- Train and assist team members with proper procedures, safety practices, and equipment operation.
- Serve as a resource for the team and communicate issues or concerns to supervision.
- Promote a safe, clean, organized, and productive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
- Assist with other duties and cross-functional tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of warehouse or material handling experience; lead experience preferred.
- Forklift experience required.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repeatedly and carry items for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to provide direction and work effectively with a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
