Responsibilities:
In this role you will provide a wide range of responsibilities to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients. Key duties include:
Personal Care: Assisting with hygiene, toileting, mobility, medication, and meal preparation. Health Monitoring: Measuring and recording fluid intake/output, and reporting changes to the nurse supervisor.
Documentation: Maintaining electronic medical records (EMR) and documenting services provided.
Housekeeping: Performing light housekeeping duties in the patient area.
Patient Environment: Maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant environment while following infection control principles.
Emergency Procedures: Recognizing and responding to emergencies.
Professional Development: Maintaining competency and registration.

Qualifications:
- Registered by the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a Certified Nursing Assistant
- One year of relevant experience
- Hospice experience, preferred
- Driver’s license, personal automobile, and current automobile liability insurance
Typical Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Must be prepared to work in home environments that have difficult working conditions including, but not limited to cramped space, pets, dirt, allergens smoke, limited seating
- Sit, stand, stoop, bend, reach, lift and walk, climb steps
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push up to 200 pounds in a wheelchair.
- Frequent travel
