Ensures program goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, timelines, funding parameters, and the strategic direction of both Vice Presidents.
This position provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and project management support across a portfolio of strategic initiatives, including ASU's partnership with TSMC, Taiwan engagement efforts, and enterprise-wide resource initiatives. The role serves as a central coordination point for executive operations, strategic projects, and institutional partnerships while maintaining a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and organizational effectiveness.
Reporting Relationship
Reports jointly to the Vice President, TSMC Partnership Initiatives, and the Vice President, Chief Resource Officer.
Essential Duties:
Project & Portfolio Management
Coordinate execution of multiple concurrent strategic initiatives across both VP portfolios, keeping milestones, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder responsibilities on schedule.
Build and maintain project management systems, dashboards, timelines, decision logs, and action-item trackers to monitor progress and support executive decision-making.
Develop and maintain work plans for recurring deliverables such as weekly Taiwan/TSMC news updates, executive briefings, delegation itineraries, and implementation roadmaps.
Track progress across the portfolio, identifying risks, barriers, resource constraints, and interdependencies, and recommend mitigation strategies to leadership.
Coordinate and monitor contractors, consultants, and vendors — overseeing deliverables, contracts, timelines, budgets, and invoices.
Evaluate program and project effectiveness through KPIs, partnership outcomes, and milestones; recommend process and execution improvements.
Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
Coordinate and monitor activities supporting ASU's TSMC partnership and broader Taiwan engagement — talent pipeline programs, research collaborations, delegation visits, events, and joint initiatives with Taiwanese universities (e.g., NYCU) and industry partners.
Serve as a proactive liaison, at each Vice President's direction, with ASU leadership, faculty, partner representatives, industry executives, consultants, and community organizations.
Coordinate Taiwan Initiatives and Chief Resource Officer priorities with internal ASU units (colleges, Knowledge Enterprise, EdPlus, Finance, University Affairs, Research Administration, Enterprise Partners, and others) and external partners to ensure alignment and successful implementation.
Support recruitment and engagement of program participants, Taiwanese delegations, alumni networks, visiting scholars, and industry partners through tailored outreach.
Advise faculty, staff, students, contractors, and external partners on program information, logistics, and interpretation of university policy.
Analysis & Resource Generation
Prepare proposals, briefing documents, concept papers, executive presentations, business cases, funding requests, and strategic reports for university leadership, state partners, and external stakeholders.
Prepare periodic reports and summaries on partnership activities, delegation outcomes, and portfolio progress for senior leadership.
Support institutional resource generation by coordinating market research, competitive analyses, financial models, and stakeholder engagement for emerging opportunities.
Administrative & Executive Support
Manage calendars and schedule meetings for both Vice Presidents across multiple time zones — internal leadership, executive, and external partner engagements, delegation visits, recurring check-ins, and strategic planning sessions — confirming agendas, materials, preparation, and follow-up.
Coordinate domestic and international travel for both Vice Presidents, including itineraries, meeting logistics, transportation, lodging, briefing materials, and expense reconciliation.
Develop and edit executive communications and materials: correspondence, presentations, talking points, promotional content, reports, and website copy.
Plan and facilitate meetings, workshops, planning sessions, delegation visits, and cross-functional working groups — handling logistics, participant communications, documentation, and follow-up.
Other

Perform other duties as assigned in support of University Affairs' strategic priorities.
Desired Qualifications:
Demonstrated agility and ability to be able to manage ambiguity and various projects and competing priorities.
Familiarity with ASU's institutional structure, including research administration, international engagement protocols, and innovation infrastructure.

Knowledge of issues pertaining to U.S.–Taiwan relations, semiconductor industry dynamics, and higher education international partnerships.
Demonstrated discretion in handling sensitive institutional, commercial, and diplomatic information.
Working Environment:
Standard office environment based in Tempe, AZ as primary location, with periodic event support on ASU campuses, Innovation Zones and at partner sites in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Occasional evening and early-morning hours required to accommodate time-zone coordination with Taiwan.
Some domestic and international travel may be required to support delegation visits and partnership convenings.
