Job Description
The Manager, Strategic Logistics – LATAM will be based in Guadalajara, Mexico. In this position, you will report to the Director, Strategic Logistics - Latam. The Manager, Strategic Logistics – LATAM will play a key role in developing and executing logistics strategies across the region, including Brazil. This position will lead freight sourcing, negotiations, and service provider management while partnering closely with Operations, Sales, and Project Management to optimize cost, capacity, service, and supply chain performance. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in multi-modal logistics within LATAM, strong commercial and analytical capabilities, and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced, complex environment.
What You'll Do:
- Develop strategy for all freight related elements for the business including costs, quality, capacity, etc. for all Latam countries including Brazil.
- Lead freight contracts, cost and capacity negotiations for all logistics related services including ocean & air freight, land transport, warehousing, transloading etc.
- Scouting, analyzing, and qualifying carriers and new service providers to optimize capacity & cost and diversify the supply chain at large.
- Sending Requests for Proposals (RFP) and prioritize sourcing efforts to target local market needs and align with global logistics strategies.
- Collaborate with the rest of the operations teams to devise supply strategy to optimize landed costs and meet the required delivery schedule.
- Collaborate with Sales and Project Managers to optimize freight costs & capacity for strategic projects and customers.
- Maintain relationships, conduct quarterly business reviews, and ensure active measurement of performance for all service providers.
- Resolve service provider escalations and exceptions from operations team.
- Develop and implement logistics related processes to improve overall supply chain efficiency as the need arises.
- Keep abreast of pertinent regulations and respond accordingly to update all departments that are affected by the changes.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in multi-modal logistics pricing structure and compliance (ocean, rail, truck, air, and customs brokerage) with a focus on LATAM markets, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Must be a skilled negotiator, analytical, creative and an effective communicator.
- High degree of autonomy and accountability for results.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
