Position Title: Utility Construction Laborer

Reports To: Foreman/Project Manager

Department: Field Operations

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Reporting Location: Whitmore Lake, MI

90-Day Target Bonus: Performance based

180-Day Target Bonus: Performance based

Compensation

• Compensation is based on the applicable union scale, with opportunities for higher starting pay based on experience.
• Minimum Starting Pay: $31.66/hour (includes $2.00/hour CDL Premium) ($27.66/hour base wage + $4.00/hour vacation pay (taxable)
• Up to 72 hours of paid sick time (per established requirements)

Position Summary

Join a team performing trenchless rehabilitation work that keeps critical infrastructure running. You'll work hands-on with a skilled crew installing cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) systems for sanitary and storm sewers using industry-leading methods. This is an active, field-based role with travel throughout the State of Michigan, offering the opportunity to develop specialized skills in a growing segment of the utility construction industry. 

What You'll Do 

• Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground water and sewer utilities 
• Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites
• Install and remove water and sewer mains in accordance with plans and specifications 
• Drive company vehicles to job sites in compliance with DOT requirements 
• Travel to project sites throughout Michigan as needed
• Support and assist our cleaning, inspection, and rehabilitation crews

• Valid CDL-A Driver’s License

• Reliable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn 
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and in varying weather conditions 
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening, participate in random drug testing, and maintain a satisfactory driving record (MVR)
