What is the opportunity?
Join the Credit Modeling and Methodology team within Enterprise Risk and Group Risk Management (GRM), where you will play a critical role in developing, validating, and maintaining advanced credit risk models that drive enterprise-wide decision-making and regulatory compliance. Our team is responsible for designing and implementing sophisticated credit risk frameworks, including Advanced Internal Ratings-Based (AIRB) and IFRS 9 models. We also lead quarterly monitoring and performance reviews to ensure our models remain accurate, compliant with regulatory requirements, and aligned with RBC's risk appetite.
What will you do?
- Support AIRB PD, LGD and EAD validation remediation through data reconciliation, issue analysis, and documentation.
- Contribute to quarterly model monitoring and validation processes
- Assist in ensuring regulatory compliance and reporting accuracy
- Help advance our modeling programs to meet evolving business and regulatory needs
- Work alongside a team of experienced credit risk professionals
What do you need to succeed?
Must-Haves
- Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning
- Programming skills in Python, SQL, or equivalent.
- Attention to details. Good at detecting patterns and anomalies.
- Excellent writing skills for documentation to comply with regulatory and audit needs.
- Ability to work independently and/or in a team setting to handle projects and assignments with a high degree of ambiguity.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Knowledge of Banking and commercial lending products
- Knowledge of processing or manipulating large data sets efficiently

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Winter 2027 Student placement with a start date of January 2027, and end date of April 2027. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:
