As we open our new Texas plant, we are seeking a Stair Weld Supervisor to establish and lead our Stair Weld department. The Stair Weld Supervisor will play a critical role in overseeing stair welding operations while ensuring products are fabricated safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. As one of the key leaders within our Texas operation, this position will help establish departmental processes, develop talent, and build the foundation for future growth.

FIDELITY MANUFACTURING is part of the Backup Power Generation industry. We design and build backup power packages, including tanks and enclosures, for healthcare, industrial, and technology-driven customers that require uninterrupted power at all times. Job Summary


The Stair Weld Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily stair welding operations to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. This position leads welding personnel, manages production workflow, monitors weld quality, and supports operational objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.


The ideal candidate will possess strong welding and fabrication knowledge, leadership experience, and the ability to balance production requirements with quality expectations. This role requires a visible presence on the production floor, a commitment to employee development, and a passion for continuous improvement.


As the Texas facility continues to expand, this position will play a key role in developing team members, implementing standardized processes, and building a high-performing welding department.


Essential Job Functions


Production Leadership & Execution


· Plan and execute daily stair welding schedules to support production requirements and customer delivery commitments.

· Ensure proper fit-up, welding, inspection, and staging activities are completed according to specifications and production requirements.

· Monitor workflow and proactively address bottlenecks, production delays, downtime, and labor inefficiencies.

· Coordinate activities with supporting departments to maintain uninterrupted production flow.

· Ensure production schedules, priorities, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.

· Assign work and manage daily labor resources to maximize efficiency and productivity.

· Monitor department performance and communicate operational priorities, challenges, and opportunities to leadership.

· Support achievement of departmental and facility performance objectives.


Team Leadership & Employee Development


· Lead, coach, train, and develop welders and department personnel.

· Establish and communicate clear expectations related to safety, quality, attendance, productivity, and performance.

· Support employee onboarding, training, performance management, and workforce development initiatives.

· Foster accountability, teamwork, and a positive work environment.

· Identify and develop future leaders within the department.

· Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.

· Promote employee engagement and continuous learning.


Quality & Continuous Improvement


· Ensure welding activities meet company, customer, and engineering requirements.

· Monitor weld quality and workmanship to reduce defects, rework, and scrap.

· Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities when quality issues occur.

· Utilize department metrics and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

· Support standardized processes, work instructions, and best practices throughout the department.

· Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to implement process improvements and quality enhancements.


Safety & Equipment Management


· Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the department.

· Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and established safety procedures.

· Conduct routine safety observations and address unsafe conditions immediately.

· Ensure employees properly utilize PPE and follow safe work practices.

· Monitor welding equipment condition and coordinate preventive maintenance activities.

· Ensure welding consumables, materials, and production resources are available to support operations.

· Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas.

· Support safety training initiatives and incident investigations.


Qualifications


Required Qualifications


· High School Diploma or GED.

· Minimum 3 years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

· Minimum 2 years of supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience.

· Strong knowledge of welding processes, fabrication practices, and welding equipment.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, specifications, and manufacturing drawings.

· Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to effectively coach, train, and develop employees.

· Knowledge of weld quality standards and inspection requirements.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.


Highly Preferred


· Experience leading welding operations in a manufacturing environment.

· Experience with structural steel, stair assemblies, platforms, handrails, or fabricated steel products.

· Experience supporting startup operations, plant expansions, or new facility launches.

· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.

· Experience coordinating production schedules and workforce planning.

· Experience in metal fabrication and industrial manufacturing environments.


Preferred


· Technical certification, trade school training, or welding-related education.

· Welding certifications or industry-recognized credentials.

· Experience with ERP systems, manufacturing software, or production reporting systems.

· Knowledge of ISO standards and manufacturing quality systems.

· Advanced root cause analysis and corrective action experience.


Working Conditions


Work is performed in a manufacturing, production, and warehouse environment and may include both indoor and outdoor work areas. Employees may be exposed to varying temperatures, welding fumes, dust, airborne particles, elevated noise levels, moving machinery, forklifts, material handling equipment, and uneven walking surfaces.

The position requires regular presence throughout production operations to monitor workflow, support employees, address operational challenges, and ensure compliance with safety and quality expectations. Required PPE must be worn at all times in designated work areas, and all safety procedures and training requirements must be followed.


Physical Requirements


· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout manufacturing and production areas.

· Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, and perform physical inspections of work areas and equipment.

· Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to safely operate welding equipment, fabrication tools, and production machinery.

· Ability to read measurements using rulers, gauges, weld measuring devices, and inspection tools.

· Ability to maintain visual acuity required to inspect weld quality, identify defects, and monitor production activities.

· Ability to communicate effectively in elevated noise environments while wearing required PPE.

· Ability to safely navigate active manufacturing and warehouse environments.
