Not a Remote Position
The Manager of Data, Analysis & Impact builds and delivers the data and analytical capabilities to help the YMCA of Greater Rochester better understand its members, evaluate performance and make informed decisions.
This position oversees data quality and integrity, develops and maintains data flows from key business systems and prepares data for analysis and reporting. The Manager uses SQL, Power Automate, Power BI, Excel and embedded AI capabilities to combine data sources, automate recurring reports, create impactful analyses and publish reliable dashboards.
This position serves as both a hands-on data practitioner and an Association-wide resource. The Manager collaborates with functional leaders, process owners and system owners to understand business needs and deliver reliable, documented and sustainable data solutions. This position requires a commitment to delivering excellent service in alignment with the YMCA’s mission and core values.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Develop and optimize integrated data flows to extract, transform and combine data for quality and integrity assurance, analysis and reporting.
· Partner with leaders, system owners and report users to define business questions and KPIs, prioritize reporting needs, improve data literacy and ensure reports are useful, understandable and appropriately applied in decision-making.
· Conduct recurring and ad hoc analysis using frequencies, trends, comparisons, cross-tabulations and other analytical methods to identify patterns, investigate business questions and diagnose the “why” behind the numbers in order to inform decisions.
· Build and maintain reports and dashboards that provide clear metric tracking and visibility into actionable information about membership, participation, attendance, programs, revenue and customer behavior.
· Advance data governance, including documentation, data definitions, reporting standards, and process improvements
· Establish validation and reconciliation processes that identify data quality issues, investigate discrepancies and build confidence in organizational reporting.
· Support organizational data readiness by documenting data processes, transformations and metrics so solutions are broadly understandable,
· Build organizational data capabilities by helping leaders and staff understand metrics, interpret reports and supporting staff to use analyses and reports for high impact.
· Support Association objectives and goals by demonstrating the YMCA mission and core values.
· Attend all required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
· Perform other duties as assigned in support of department operations and the YMCA mission.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in data science, information systems, computer science, statistics, mathematics, business, accounting or a related analytical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
· 3-5 years’ experience working with structured data systems like CRM platforms, POS systems or data warehouses.
· Seeks best practices, guidelines and industry standards to guide performance.
· Possess exceptional technical knowledge and organizational skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Uses SQL, Power Query, Power Automate, Power BI, Excel and emerging AI-enabled tools to integrate data, automate recurring work, perform analysis and publish reliable reporting.
· Proficient using data exploration, visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
· Highly attentive to detail, follow through and problem solving.
· Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects concurrently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work in a self-directed manner and also bring in others to collaborate.
· Ability to communicate technical information clearly to various levels of staff.
· Ability to travel between local YMCA branches
· Ability to represent the YMCA in a mature and professional manner.

· Must be able to sit or stand for the duration of the shift
· Must be able to bend and stoop occasionally
· Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds occasionally
