Description
Key Responsibilities:
Buying & Range Management
- Support the Ecommerce Buyer in managing product categories and online assortments.
- Assist in product selection and range reviews based on sales performance, market trends, and customer demand.
- Raise purchase orders and monitor supplier deliveries to ensure product availability.
- Responsible for sourcing and ranging best in class products for pharmacy websites.
- Maintain accurate product and supplier information within internal systems.
- Support the launch of new products and seasonal ranges.
- Partner daily with Customer Service, Fulfilment, Finance teams, resolving enquiries within a timely manner
- Weekly teams call with Warehouse to review any outstanding queries or concerns.
- Research trends and new suppliers that will bring new customers to purchase, ensuring we maximise the opportunity and profits.
- Assist in ad hoc seasonal projects, e.g. Christmas and other key campaigns.
- Support the development of the eCommerce strategy for agreed Categories across the eCommerce channels and ownership and responsibility for these specific categories (e.g. Vitamins, Skincare, OTC, Wellness, Healthcare and Beauty).
Commercial & Trading Support
- Analyse weekly sales, stock, and margin reports and provide insights and recommendations.
- Monitor product performance and identify opportunities to increase sales and profitability.
- Support promotional planning and execution across ecommerce channels.
- Ensure pricing accuracy and assist in competitor price monitoring.
- Assist with forecasting demand and stock requirements.
Supplier Management
- Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
- Coordinate product information, imagery, and marketing content from suppliers.
- Support supplier meetings and prepare relevant reports and presentations.
- Track supplier performance relating to availability, delivery, and commercial agreements.
Ecommerce Merchandising
- Ensure product listings are accurate, engaging, and optimised for online customers.
- Work with the Digital and Marketing teams to support category campaigns, promotions, and product launches.
- Monitor product availability and work proactively to minimise out-of-stock issues.
- Assist with category merchandising to improve customer experience and conversion.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare regular sales, stock, and category performance reports (daily, weekly and monthly) for Ecommerce and Senior Management.
- Improve internal and external purchasing procedures.
- Maintain accurate buying records and documentation.
- Support budget tracking and promotional planning.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and category reviews as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a Buying Assistant, Ecommerce Assistant, Merchandising, Commercial, or Retail Administration role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and performance data.
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Can work efficiently and use own initiative.
Experience
- Minimum 2+ years in a similar Ecommerce or buying role.
- Pharmacy buying experience desirable but not essential.
- An understanding of and passion for retail.
- Excellent numerical & analytical skills to include excellent computer literacy & comprehensive experience with all MS products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a diverse, fast paced environment.
- SAP experience is desirable but not essential.
