Opportunity Profile

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Position Title: New Construction Controls Technician

The Opportunity:

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a growing Building Automation and Controls organization during a period of sustained growth and market expansion. As Oklahoma City's commercial construction market continues to thrive, the company is investing in talented technical professionals who want to build a long-term career in Building Management Systems (BMS), Direct Digital Controls (DDC), and advanced building technologies.

The New Construction Controls Technician will play a critical role in helping bring complex commercial facilities to life. From hospitals and office buildings to industrial and mission-critical facilities, this individual will be directly involved in installing, commissioning, programming, and optimizing the intelligent systems that operate modern buildings. Rather than simply maintaining existing systems, this position offers the unique opportunity to see projects from construction through completion, providing immediate visibility into the impact of your work.

What makes this opportunity particularly compelling is the organization's commitment to hiring for aptitude, attitude, and potential. While HVAC controls experience is certainly valued, the company has successfully developed high-performing technicians from a variety of technical backgrounds, including automotive diagnostics, industrial automation, access control, CCTV, fire and life safety systems, and PLC programming. Candidates who possess strong technical curiosity, hands-on troubleshooting abilities, and a desire to learn will find an organization committed to their growth and success.

The individual selected for this role will join a business experiencing strong market demand, with the chance to contribute immediately while following a clearly defined path toward advancement into Lead Technician, Startup Specialist, Project Lead, Project Supervisor, or Project Management roles. This is an ideal opportunity for a technically-minded professional who enjoys solving complex problems, learning new technologies, and building a meaningful career within a growing organization.

The Company:

The company is a recognized leader in Building Automation Systems, Controls Integration, and HVAC technology solutions. The organization has built a strong reputation by delivering sophisticated controls solutions for complex commercial facilities and maintaining long-term relationships with clients across multiple industries.

The business continues to experience substantial growth due to expanding construction activity throughout the Oklahoma City market. Rather than simply participating in projects, the company is helping shape the future of intelligent buildings through advanced controls technologies that improve comfort, operational efficiency, sustainability, and system performance.

What truly differentiates the organization is its culture and commitment to developing talent. The company believes technical aptitude, work ethic, and a willingness to learn often outweigh traditional industry experience. This philosophy has enabled the business to successfully develop talented individuals from adjacent industries into highly effective controls professionals. Employees are provided with extensive hands-on training, mentorship, manufacturer training, and ongoing development opportunities that accelerate both technical and professional growth.

The company's strong reputation within the local market, combined with its ability to retain and develop talent, creates an environment where motivated professionals can build lasting careers while contributing to meaningful projects throughout the region.

The Boss:

The New Construction Controls Technician will report to an experienced leader known for a practical approach to talent development and a commitment to helping individuals reach their full potential.

This leader understands that exceptional technicians do not always come from traditional controls backgrounds and has been instrumental in broadening the organization's talent strategy by focusing on technical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn. Under this leadership, professionals from automotive diagnostics, industrial automation, and various technical service industries have successfully transitioned into high-performing controls careers.

The leadership philosophy emphasizes learning, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Employees who demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and strong technical capabilities are given opportunities to take on increasing responsibility and advance their careers.
