Oversees and facilitates the Nurse Residency Program following established standards and expectations. Focus on continuing professional development and education for nurses in their first year as a nurse. Various responsibilities focus on developing educational programs and processes to promote professional development for nurses throughout the organization. This process will focus on evidence-based practice and fosters a personal commitment to overall organization success.Job Duties:

Job Description:
- Develops and revise curriculum for the Nurse Residency Program and transition to practice programs.
- Implements and facilitates the Nurse Residency Program – ensures speakers are planned and present; space is planned and reserved; learners are informed of dates and locations; etc.
- Evaluate the outcomes of the Nurse Residency Program using data collection methods consistent with Vizient.
- Routinely shares outcome data with key stakeholders and advisory committee.
- Revise the Nurse Residency program based on feedback from stakeholders and literature.
- Serves as a strong role model in professional practice as evidenced by robust relationships with staff and members of other departments, effective communications, appropriate resource utilization and sound planning skills.
- Provide guidance to residents regarding orientation and transition to practice; and builds a sense of pride in employees and promotes good morale.
- Guides resident professional development through mentoring, coaching and education.
- Participates in the formulation of nursing policies and goals when appropriate.
- Provides feedback to resident and managers regarding professional practice issues identified.
