Job Description:
Provides carpentry skills by constructing, remodeling and maintaining all areas of buildings on campus.
Principle Responsibilities
- Carpentry/Cabinet Making.
- Constructs, remodels and maintains all areas of buildings on campus.
- Ensures that work is completed to meet regulatory requirements and timelines.
- May read blueprints and estimate materials.
- May assemble and install custom millwork including repair and remodeling of existing millwork.
- May need to install small equipment, repair equipment and furnishings.
- May deal with inventory.
- Constructs walls/partition.
- Repairs, installs and maintenance.
- Repairs/Maintains equipment which may include doors, frames and all hardware including locks and key schedules.
- Maintains and replaces door hardware, repairs walls ceilings and floors.
- May need to copy keys, adjusts or install locks.
- May need to provide record keeping of lock/key schedules and make keys as requested.
- May need to perform electrical and general maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Vocational or Technical Training in Carpentry OR
- Minimum of 3 years of carpentry experience in hospital or commercial environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of carpentry experience in hospital environment
- 2 to 5 years of apprenticeship training
- 2 to 5 years of framing, drywall and basic cabinet making experience
Physical Demands
- Heavy Work:
- Lifting weight up to 100 lbs. occasionally, up to 50 lbs. frequently
Pay Range
Pay Range: $36.94 to $46.73 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.Benefit Summary
