Inside the Role
The Vehicle Architecture team leads with the vehicle view developing exceptional vehicle products that deliver customer value. We serve as the technical voice of the customer, ensuring their needs are understood and ensure we can effectively meet their expectations. This role is responsible for the intake of development requests and translating them into technical requirements & specifications, enabling downstream Systems & Product Engineering teams to deliver optimized solutions that meet customer expectations. In addition to the Systems & Product Engineering teams, this role will have direct engagement with Product Strategy, Product Validation, Software & Connectivity teams to ensure our solutions meet customer expectations. What You Drive at DTNA
- Serve as the primary interface between Strategy & Engineering teams to ensure clarity, alignment, and effective translation of customer requests into executable technical requirements.
- Lead technical intake, synthesis & distribution of development requests across multiple engineering teams to achieve customer needs, strategic priorities, and lifecycle management needs.
- Define early-stage technical requirements & specifications for future-focused projects, including but not limited to software-defined vehicles & future propulsion technologies.
- Drive early development & readiness, enabling successful execution of upcoming vehicle and software integration projects.
- Conduct structured assessments and integration reviews to ensure vehicle & system impact is clear and addressing areas requiring clarification.
- Develop & execute technical benchmarking methods to establish baselines & targets, identify industry trends, and emerging technologies that will differentiate our products.
- Define & implement vehicle-level compatibility, configuration & complexity strategies to enable optimized and effective platform solutions.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience in the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of On-Highway, Vocational, Medium Duty & Powertrain platforms.
- Broad engineering knowledge spanning across vehicle, system & component levels.
- Understand development & documentation methods including integration & compatibility across multiple systems & spatial zones.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, locally & globally.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and project management skills.
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- Experience with technical benchmarking processes & methods.
- Experience with DTNA development tools such as IMS, ELM, JIRA & others.
- Experience with DTNA processes such as Commercial Vehicle Development System (CVDS), System Engineering Development Process (SEDP) & others.
- Working collaboratively across multiple business units including Engineering, Strategy, Software & Connectivity.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple regions and time zones.
