Team Lead Cash Applications - Position Summary
At Strivant Health, accurate payment posting and reconciliation are critical to a successful revenue cycle. As a Cash Applications Team Lead, you will provide leadership, coaching, and operational support for teams responsible for payment posting, reconciliation, cash processing, refunds, and payment exception resolution.
This role combines leadership, training, quality oversight, and hands-on production support. You will help team members resolve complex payment posting issues, monitor quality and productivity, identify trends, and implement process improvements that enhance operational performance and client outcomes. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about developing high-performing teams.
What You’ll Do – Your Impact Matters
- Lead, coach, and develop Cash Applications team members to achieve productivity, quality, and service goals.
- Monitor daily cash posting, payment reconciliation, adjustments, refunds, and payment exception processing.
- Conduct quality reviews and provide coaching to improve accuracy, compliance, and operational performance.
- Support onboarding, training, SOP development, and ongoing employee development initiatives.
- Analyze posting trends, identify root causes of errors, and implement process improvements.
- Manage workload distribution, assist with backlog resolution, and provide hands-on support during peak volumes.
- Collaborate with clients and cross-functional revenue cycle teams to resolve payment discrepancies and improve workflows.
- Generate reports, monitor performance metrics, and support special projects as needed.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, finance, accounting, business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in medical payment posting, cash applications, payment reconciliation, or healthcare revenue cycle operations.
- At least 1 year of leadership, mentoring, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of payment posting workflows, adjustments, refunds, remittances, and reconciliation processes.
- Experience identifying posting errors, analyzing trends, and implementing quality improvements.
- Ability to interpret payment data, ledgers, and account activity to resolve discrepancies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize competing demands, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
