Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Housekeeper / Facilities Custodian to maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for the daily cleaning and upkeep of classrooms, offices, restrooms, break rooms, common areas, and other facility spaces.
This is a part-time or full-time position, scheduled for up to 40 hours per week. Work schedules may vary based on operational needs.
Essential Job Duties
Opening Duties
- Retrieve housekeeping key from designated location.
- Deep clean, mop, sanitize, and restock all public restrooms.
- Vacuum lobby and administrative office.
- Collect trash and recycling from:
- Main clinic classroom
- Wash house area
- Dispensary
- Concierge desk
- Administrative offices
- Student break room
- Staff break room
- Classrooms
- Additional offices
- Transport trash and recycling to designated dumpsters throughout the day.
Daily Cleaning Responsibilities
- Maintain clean and sanitary restrooms by:
- Cleaning and disinfecting toilets, urinals, sinks, countertops, mirrors, and partitions.
- Cleaning the base of toilets and stall dividers.
- Dusting ledges and dispensers.
- Emptying, cleaning, and relining trash receptacles.
- Restocking paper products, soap, and other restroom supplies.
- Mopping floors and maintaining a sanitary environment.
- Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the facility.
- Replace liners and double-bag waste when appropriate.
- Sweep common areas and hallways using a push broom.
- Clean interior and exterior glass on entry doors and interior doors.
- Dust windowsills, ledges, and other horizontal surfaces throughout the building.
- Clean and sanitize student and staff break rooms.
- Clean wash house area, including shampoo dispensers and bottles.
- Clean sink traps and drains as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of shared spaces throughout the day.
Periodic Duties
- Clean and sanitize refrigerators.
- Deep clean and mop restroom floors.
- Perform additional cleaning projects as assigned.
- Notify supervisor of maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or supply shortages.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
Qualifications
- Previous custodial, housekeeping, janitorial, or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to communicate professionally with staff, students, and visitors.
- Willingness to learn cleaning procedures and safety protocols.

The essential functions of this position generally require the employee to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull supplies and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Operate standard custodial equipment, including vacuums, mops, brooms, and cleaning tools.
- Perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the workday.
- Safely use cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment in accordance with training and manufacturer instructions.
Work Environment
This position is performed primarily indoors in classrooms, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas. Employees may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying noise levels. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be provided as needed.
Schedule
- Up to 40 hours per week.
- Hours and days may vary based on facility needs.
- Occasional schedule adjustments may be required to support operations.
