Paralegal/Legal Secretary
Our client is a premier construction law specialist firm known for excellence, precision, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. The firm represents a sophisticated portfolio of clients within the construction industry and is seeking experienced and knowledgeable Paralegal / Legal Secretary to join their professional teams in Pretoria and Cape Town.
This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and highly organised legal professional to work in a dynamic and high-performing legal environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting Associates and Directors while ensuring the smooth administration and management of legal matters and client files.
Responsibilities: File & Administrative Management: • Manage and maintain legal files, case registers, and related documentation accurately and efficiently. • Ensure proper administration and organisation of all legal and client records. • Handle general contract administration and related support functions.
Legal Support & Research: • Conduct legal research using platforms such as Juta and/or LexisNexis. • Assist with the preparation of legal documents and regulatory documentation.
Client & Matter Administration: • Conduct due diligence assessments for new clients and litigious matters. • Maintain accurate records and ensure all administrative processes are completed timeously.
General Support: • Provide overall assistance and support to Associates and Directors. • Work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. • Assist with additional legal and administrative duties as required by management.
Requirements: • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a law firm environment with a stable work history. • Sound knowledge and experience with Courts Online systems. • Strong legal research skills, including experience using Juta and/or LexisNexis. • Exceptional administrative and organisational skills, including filing and case management. • Sound knowledge of Contract Law and Commercial Law. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. • Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines. • A professional, ethical, hardworking, and loyal individual with a strong sense of accountability.
