Job / Role Summary
The MTS is a senior technical contributor advancing NAND Advanced Thin Films by leading project-level initiatives, executing complex experiments, performing material characterization, and supporting integration and fixing. This role requires strong technical depth in deposition and metrology, consistent delivery of measurable results, and the ability to mentor earlier-career engineers while supporting continuous improvement and transfer readiness.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead project-level initiatives in structural and electrical film processes, especially dielectric (low/high‑k) and carbon-based films.
- Carry out complex experiments and support integration under guidance of senior staff; deliver measurable results for the site/department.
- Support technology transfer and ramp-up activities; participate in multi-functional problem-solving for process challenges and innovation.
- Maintain thorough records and prepare comprehensive technical reports; contribute to guidelines/SOPs/knowledge management systems.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends in thin film processing/characterization.
Other Responsibilities
- Mentor early-career engineers and provide leadership aligned with senior technical expectations.
- Support continuous improvement and optimization of existing processes.
- Integrates AI assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
- Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.
Candidate Profile
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
- PhD ≥8 yrs, or Master’s ≥11 yrs, or Bachelor’s ≥13 yrs of relevant experience in
Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field,
- With significant Thin Films R&D/PD experience in NAND, specifically including Diffusion and CVD films
Must-Have Technical Skills
- Deposition expertise: ALD and CVD (plasma and thermal), recipe setup, tuning, fixing.
- Metrology/characterization proficiency (ellipsometry, XRR, SEM, TEM) and familiarity with fab metrology tools.
- Integration/defect/yield improvement understanding; RCA, DOE, SPC.
- Strong written/verbal technical communication across audiences.
Must-Have Soft Skills
- Project-level leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
- Coaching/mentoring ability; disciplined execution and documentation.
Highly Desirable / Preferred
- Publications/patents and strong record of technical contributions.
