ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Fresh Perishables Manager to lead the performance and day-to-day operations of the fresh food divisions at a well-established retail operation in the British Virgin Islands. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in product quality, team development, and delivering a consistently excellent experience for customers.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Oversee daily operations across fresh food departments, maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and freshness

• Monitor inventory, manage ordering, and minimise spoilage and shrink through smart stock control practices

• Lead, coach, and develop a team to deliver strong results across sales, margin, and service targets

• Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and temperature control requirements

• Execute merchandising and promotional programs, keeping displays attractive and product information current

• Conduct regular department inspections and coordinate equipment maintenance as needed

• Collaborate with store leadership and other departments to support overall operational objectives

 

WHAT YOU BRING

• Grocery retail experience is a must

• Minimum 3 years of experience in retail grocery operations, with supervisory or management responsibility over fresh or perishables

departments

• Solid understanding of fresh food merchandising, inventory management, stock rotation, and shrink control

• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and temperature control; HACCP certification or equivalent is preferred

• Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced retail environment

• Comfortable working in refrigerated and frozen environments as required

• Organised, solutions-focused, and customer-oriented in approach

• Fluent in spoken and written English

• Salary of USD $65,000 - $75,000 per year
