About the Opportunity
Based in Fortitude Valley QLD or Symonston ACT with flexible hybrid working arrangements, as a Subcontracts Specialist you will lead sourcing and subcontract activities from strategy through to contract award and ongoing management. Working closely with program teams, suppliers, and stakeholders, you'll ensure commercial solutions deliver value, manage risk, and support successful program outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and executing sourcing and subcontract strategies.
Leading RFx processes, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards.
Drafting, negotiating, and managing subcontracts and contract variations.
Monitoring supplier performance and resolving commercial issues.
Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Supporting Australian Industry Capability (AIC) initiatives.
Driving continuous improvement across subcontracting processes and practices.
About You
You are a commercially minded professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys partnering with stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. You bring strong negotiation skills, sound commercial judgement, and a commitment to delivering results with integrity
You'll bring:
Experience in subcontract management, procurement, contracts, or a similar commercial role.
Strong commercial acumen, including contract drafting and negotiation experience.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
The ability to manage competing priorities and solve complex commercial challenges.
Experience working with suppliers and managing contract performance.
Strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Defence, Aerospace, ASDEFCON, or export control experience (highly regarded).
Eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance.
