Hourly Rate: $44.5356 to $56.84 (DOQ)
The Parks and Public Works’ Part-time Administrative Analyst performs administrative and analytical duties in the Parks & Public Works Department. The Administrative Analyst’s key responsibilities will include supporting the Department's Senior Administrative Analyst on various aspects of operational analysis, compliance review, internal controls, process improvement initiatives, and financial reconciliation activities. The Department is working on developing the systems and processes needed to support the organization in a modern, meaningful way. Analyst projects may include, but are not limited to, special projects such as internal operational and financial audits including advanced reconciliation of transactions and supporting documentation, fiscal reporting improvements, operational data maintenance for system enhancement, records management, and implementation of process improvements.
The Parks and Public Works Department manages a $12.5 million operating budget spread over 20 programs, funds and assessment districts, and a $6.5 million capital budget. Experience in municipal finance is required.
This is a part-time(lessthan20-hour/week),non-benefitted position to support the financial well being of the Department and, by extension, the Town of Los Gatos.
This position will report to the Senior Administrative Analyst. Duties include reviewing existing data, financial records, and supporting documentation; collaborating with the Senior Administrative Analyst, departmental program managers, and the Town's Finance Department on operational and financial review activities; developing and documenting processes; implementing organizational improvements; and supporting departmental recordkeeping and compliance efforts.

Schedule: This assignment is approximately 25 hours per week, not to exceed 960 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30) and is not eligible for benefits. The hired individual must be available to be onsite for meetings and fieldwork during regular business hours upon request. Hybrid/remote work may be available on a case-by-case evaluation. CalPERS Retired Annuitants are limited to working 960 hours per fiscal year.

- Technical Skills- Has working knowledge of municipal administrative processes, financial systems, records management practices, compliance requirements, and process improvement methodologies.
- Driven and Energetic–A self-starter who is committed to accomplishing goals and tasks on-time.
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities s qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university with a major in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Project management, government background and a Master’s degree in public administration is preferred, but not required.
- Two (2) years of analytical and professional experience involving analysis, report preparation, and administrative or operational support.
