Corporate Security sits within the Legal function. Our mission is to protect Diageo's people, assets, reputation, and future development. We achieve this by setting policies, monitoring implementation, and providing decision-makers with expert guidance and services. A deep deterioration of the security situation in high-risk markets could affect our people, logistics operations, product availability, and global business performance.
About the Role
As the Corporate Security Manager based in Caracas, you will manage Corporate Security for Venezuela and directly support the Head of Corporate Security & Brand Protection with strategic tasks across Central America and the Caribbean.
You will act as a strategic advisor on security, risk management, and business continuity. This role requires you to lead with autonomy, initiative, and a results-oriented mindset to design security training, supervise vendors, and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring full compliance with corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Risk Management
- Design, implement, and lead the comprehensive security strategy for Venezuela.
- Conduct market Risk Assessments, lead the risk committee, and analyze critical organizational positions.
- Protect people, assets, business operations, and reputation while enabling secure business growth.
Brand Protection & Illicit Trade
- Manage corporate risks related to illicit trade, counterfeiting, smuggling, and brand misuse.
- Support and coordinate detailed investigations to protect brand integrity.
Supply Chain & Logistics Security
- Oversee secure imports, national distribution, warehouses, and co-manufacturing operations.
- Manage the transportation control tower and lead strategic meetings with logistics carriers.
- Mitigate theft, transit loss, and supply chain vulnerabilities.
Business Continuity & Crisis Management
- Lead the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) frameworks.
- Coordinate and guide the local Crisis Management Team (CMT) during incidents.
Commercial & Operational Management
- Lead security protocols for corporate events, marketing activations, and product launches.
- Track department KPIs, manage security budgets, and drive continuous improvement.
- Review vendor contracts and enforce strict corporate governance standards.
Stakeholder & Security Culture
- Liaise with local authorities, intelligence networks, and law enforcement agencies.
- Provide executive protection support and coordinate high-profile corporate visits.
- Drive a strong security culture through continuous training, coaching, and awareness initiatives.
Experience and Skills Required
Background & Education
8–10 years of experience in corporate security, logistics security, or law enforcement.
Proven experience working within multinational companies.
Deep expertise in managing high-risk environments and supply chain operations.
Technical Skills
Strong expertise in managing illicit trade and brand protection risks.
Solid knowledge of BCM, risk management frameworks, and corporate investigations.
Professional proficiency in English as a second language.
Leadership & Attributes
Strong leadership, analytical thinking, decision-making, and absolute confidentiality.
High autonomy, initiative, and a results-oriented mindset.
Availability to travel across Central America/Caribbean and provide 24/7 emergency support.
