Position Summary

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Health Care Compliance (HCC) Team Lead, North America MedTech. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for partnering with and supporting the Surgery, Robotics & Digital, Business Development, and Global Research & Development organizations within North America MedTech.

Reporting to the Regional Sector Lead, North America MedTech, this leader will oversee the design, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of an effective compliance program that supports business growth while ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and Johnson & Johnson policies.

This role serves as a strategic advisor to senior business leaders, fosters a culture of integrity and accountability, leads a team of compliance professionals, and drives proactive risk management across a dynamic and evolving healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Compliance Leadership

  • Serve as the primary compliance business partner for Surgery, Robotics & Digital, Business Development, and Global Research & Development leadership.

  • Provide strategic guidance on healthcare compliance risks and emerging regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with senior leadership to promote and sustain a strong culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance.

  • Ensure compliance considerations are integrated into business planning, strategic initiatives, and operational decision-making.

Compliance Program Oversight

  • Lead the implementation and continuous enhancement of compliance programs aligned with company policies, industry standards, and applicable laws and regulations.

  • Oversee compliance risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address identified risks.

  • Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements to compliance processes, controls, monitoring, and governance structures.

  • Coordinate resources and activities necessary to maintain an effective and sustainable compliance program.

Monitoring, Investigations & Corrective Actions

  • Oversee compliance monitoring, testing, auditing, and reporting activities.

  • Ensure timely identification, investigation, escalation, and resolution of potential compliance concerns.

  • Partner with Legal, Human Resources, Internal Audit, and business leaders to develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.

  • Support accountability measures and consistent application of disciplinary actions when appropriate.

Education & Communication

  • Lead compliance training, awareness, and communication initiatives to strengthen employee understanding of compliance expectations.

  • Ensure the development and delivery of effective compliance education programs tailored to business risks and organizational needs.

External Engagement & Industry Leadership

  • Represent Johnson & Johnson in industry associations, compliance forums, and external stakeholder engagements as appropriate.

  • Monitor external regulatory and industry developments and assess implications for the business.

  • Collaborate with Government Affairs, Legal, and enterprise stakeholders on matters impacting the healthcare compliance environment.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Health Care Compliance professionals.

  • Drive talent acquisition, succession planning, performance management, and employee development initiatives.

  • Serve as a member of the North America MedTech HCC Leadership Team, contributing to region and enterprise-wide compliance strategies and cross-sector initiatives.

  • Lead strategic projects and initiatives that advance organizational goals and compliance program maturity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in compliance, legal, regulatory, audit, finance, quality, healthcare compliance, or a related function.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams, including coaching, performance management, and talent development.

  • Experience partnering with senior business leaders and influencing decision-making in a complex organizational environment.

  • Knowledge of the medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated industry environment.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare compliance laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proven ability to lead change, drive business partnership, and influence across all organizational levels.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

  • Up to 25% domestic may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA, MPH, Master's Degree, or equivalent).

  • Experience in Health Care Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Finance, Internal Audit, or Legal.

  • Knowledge of:

    • U.S. Anti-Kickback Statute

    • False Claims Act

    • Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)

    • Anti-corruption laws and regulations

    • FDA promotional and advertising requirements

    • Government pricing and contracting requirements

    • Privacy and data protection regulations

  • Experience supporting sales, marketing, research and development, medical affairs, or commercial organizations.

  • Experience designing and implementing compliance, quality, audit, controls, or risk management systems.

  • Experience developing and delivering compliance training and communications programs.

  • Participation in industry associations or external compliance forums.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$178,000.00 - $307,050.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
