Turner Industries is seeking an Instrumentation Supervisor for work in the Houston, TX area.
Per diem and relocation are not available for this position; successful candidates must be current residents in/near the area.
Successful candidate will have previous experience working/troubleshooting SIS and PLC cabinets, E&H/Dreager instruments, electrical knowledgeable, able to lead maintenance crew and have experience working on a maintenance team. SAP knowledge is a plus, with ability to do planning for work orders.
- 40 hrs, must be available to work Overtime as needed, and answer call-outs
- 3 to 5 years of experience; must be knowledgeable of steam trace tubing
- Instrumentation Degree or NCCER Certification highly preferred
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and safety council
General Job Description:
This position is responsible for exercising independent judgment and supervising / directing a group of workers engaged chiefly in one occupation. On certain projects a Supervisor may perform similar duties, supervising workers engaged in several occupations. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Superintendent or Site Manager; Develops procedures for performance of a variety of duties / performs complex duties within established guidelines.
Functional Requirements:
Interprets blueprints, sketches, written and/or verbal orders, Estimates worker-hours and materials required to complete the job, Assigns duties, lines up and follows up all work and is responsible for production of the unit, Inspects work to ensure adherence to company standards, Trains and assists workers in the performance of their duties, Supervises and coordinates activities of assigned construction workers, Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations, Establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel, Analyzes and resolves work related problems, Implements project safety programs, May maintain time, production, and other records, May study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job, May make cost estimates for contracts, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Qualification Standards:
• High school or equivalent
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a Foreman in specified skill or equivalent combinations of training and
related experience
• Sets a high standard to be followed for Company/Client Safety Policies and Procedures
• Projects clear expectations to all employees under his/her supervision
• Proficient in the craft he/she is supervising
• Obtains excellent leadership and mentoring skills
• Preferred to have NCCER craft certifications and leadership certifications such as NCCER Crew Leader or
company specific Leadership Training
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection,
safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
