Overview
The Compliance Associate is responsible for conducting periodic reviews of individual account holders to ensure ongoing compliance with KYC/AML regulatory requirements. This role involves verifying customer identity and documentation, assessing source of wealth, analyzing transaction activity, and screening for negative news, while maintaining clear and professional communication with customers throughout the review process.
Responsibilities
- Perform periodic reviews of individual account holders in line with internal policies.
- Conduct Negative News Screening alert reviews on account holders as part of the review process.
- Review government-issued ID documents to confirm identity and validity
- Review Proof of Address (POA) documents to confirm current residency and document authenticity.
- Review Source of Wealth (SOW) documentation to assess the legitimacy and consistency of declared income/assets.
- Conduct transaction analysis to identify patterns inconsistent with the customer's declared profile, occupation, or source of funds.
- Identify discrepancies, red flags, or missing information and escalate findings in accordance with AML procedures.
- Communicate with customers via email to request outstanding documentation or clarify account information in a clear, professional, and
- timely manner.
- Accurately document review findings, decisions, and supporting rationale in case management systems. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of KYC/AML regulations and internal compliance policies.

Qualifications
• Minimum 3 CXC passes or equivalent qualification is preferred, or a combination of experience and related skills, and the ability to pass internal assessments. • Minimum 1 year of experience in KYC, AML, or a related financial compliance field. • Working knowledge of identity verification, proof of address, and source of wealth documentation standards. • Experience with case management or KYC/AML platforms (e.g., LexisNexis, Veriff, or similar). • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as BSA/AML, FinCEN, FATF, or relevant regional regulations.
