  • Roadmap Architecture: Drives the creation and execution of short- and long-term roadmaps partnering cross functionally with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to standardize the global application landscape and modernize legacy manufacturing systems.

  • APPC Infrastructure Governance: Participates actively in Advanced Packaging and Photonics Center (APPC) infrastructure swim lane discussions, collaborating cross-functionally to challenge assumptions, ask critical architectural questions, and ensure the deployment of a highly resilient, optimal technical foundation.

2. Compliance, Security & Governance

  • Global Compliance Frameworks: Formulates and enforces strict organizational compliance, explicitly addressing ITAR and Europe Common Criteria requirements.

  • Secure Team Structuring: Builds and structures enterprise teams capable of managing sensitive and data-privacy workloads without disrupting global operational agility.

3. Operational Excellence & Operating Model Design

  • Build the Operating Model: Translates high-level Manufacturing Enterprise IT strategies into a concrete, living operational framework that balances agility with zero-downtime manufacturing demands.

  • Drive Process Optimization: Fuels continuous improvement by implementing advanced AI agent-based automation, driving cost efficiency, and optimizing IT service delivery loops.

  • Ecosystem Orchestration: Aligns and governs managed service providers (MSPs) to deliver high-quality, high-efficiency, SLA-driven application and infrastructure services.

4. Cross-Geographic Leadership & Collaboration

  • Bridge the Business: Acts as the liaison between GlobalFoundries IT engineering, operations, manufacturing stakeholders, and third-party vendors.

  • Foster Global Synergy: Cultivates a collaborative culture across highly diverse geographical teams spanning the US, Europe, India, and the APAC region.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field.

  • Experience: Years of Experience 20+ years of progressive IT leadership within a high-tech manufacturing environment, with mandatory, deep experience in the semiconductor industry.

  • Once or twice a year travel to GF sites may be required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Global Leadership: Proven track record of directly managing large-scale global teams, consolidating 24/7 follow-the-sun operations, and driving multi-million-dollar MSP contracts.

  • Framework Expertise: Strong, practical expertise in ITIL / ITSM frameworks (Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management) adapted for smart factory / Industry 4.0 environments.

  • Factory Automation Knowledge: Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), factory automation pipelines, and infrastructure layers.
