Cybersecurity Specialist

At Culinary Depot we value our cybersecurity team as the first -- and last -- line of defense against protecting our sensitive data from cyber attack. We’re seeking an experienced and vigilant cybersecurity specialist who can proactively prevent breaches of all sizes, understand when they occur, and take immediate steps to remediate them. In this role, you’ll help keep cybercrime at bay, using your expertise and analytics skills to monitor our data at all points of contact, ferret out malware and ransomware events, and recommend solutions for any vulnerabilities. Our ideal candidate has an understanding of cybersecurity standards and certifications, extensive knowledge on how cybercriminals work, and the determination to never let them in.

Objectives of this Role

• Guard all company data, particularly sensitive data, from both internal and external threats by designing broad defenses against would-be intruders
• Take the lead on day-to-day monitoring for unusual activities, implement defensive protocols, and report incidents
• Collaborate with other members of the IT team to develop new protocols, layers of protection, and other both proactive and defensive systems that stay one step ahead of cyber criminals
• Maintain security guidelines, procedures, standards and controls documentation
• Maintain a working knowledge of current cybercrime tactics

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

• Collect data on current security measures for risk analysis and write regular systems-status reports
• Constantly monitor for attack and run appropriate defensive protocols if breaches occur
• Conduct vulnerability testing to identify weaknesses and collaborate with IT and training teams to update defensive protocols as necessary
• Configure anti-virus systems, firewalls, servers and software updates with a security-first mindset
• Grant credentials to authorized users, monitor access-related activities and check for unregistered information changes
• Help lead employee training against phishing, forms of cyberattack, and new technology adoption

Skills and Qualifications

• Degree in information systems, information technology or related field
• 3-5 years experience in cybersecurity at a mid- to large-size business  
• Strong knowledge of IT, including hardware, software and networks
• A meticulous eye for detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work in our Spring Valley Office
