Would you like to make a direct contribution to the financial and regulatory reporting of one of Romania's most dynamic banks?
In this role, you will have a direct impact on the financial, statistical, and regulatory reports submitted to the National Bank of Romania (NBR), the Ministry of Finance, the National Institute of Statistics, and ING Group. You will work in a complex and dynamic environment, collaborate with multiple areas across the bank, and have the opportunity to contribute to transformation and automation initiatives that are shaping the future of reporting processes within ING.
We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in financial reporting and a solid understanding of banking products, who is eager to leverage their expertise in a role with visibility and impact at both local and Group levels.
About the team
The Financial Reporting team is responsible for preparing and submitting financial, statistical, and prudential reports to local authorities and ING Group. We work in a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing and professional development are continuously encouraged.
Our team is involved both in recurring reporting activities and in strategic projects related to the implementation of new regulatory requirements, process improvements, and reporting infrastructure transformation.
Your day to day
Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and submission of financial, regulatory, and statistical reports to local authorities (NBR, Ministry of Finance, National Institute of Statistics) and ING Group.
Perform complex analyses, reconciliations, and consistency checks between local and Group reporting, contributing to the maintenance of high reporting quality standards.
Act as a subject matter expert for the reporting areas under your responsibility, developing and maintaining an in-depth understanding of regulatory requirements, banking products, and data flows.
Investigate and resolve reporting issues, reconciliation differences, data quality concerns, and new regulatory requirements in collaboration with stakeholders from Finance, Risk, Treasury, IT, and ING Group.
Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities, contributing to increased efficiency and enhanced reporting quality.
Play an active role in transformation initiatives and the implementation of business, system, and regulatory changes, including impact assessments and coordination of testing activities.
Support the development of colleagues by providing guidance and expertise on complex reporting and methodological topics.
Ensure the implementation and enhancement of the control framework to maintain compliance with internal requirements, SOX standards, and auditor expectations.
Collaborate with local and international stakeholders to support reporting processes and change initiatives across ING.
Anticipate the impact of new regulatory requirements and business changes on reporting processes and propose appropriate implementation solutions.
What you bring to the team
At least 4 years of experience in financial reporting within the banking industry or relevant experience in audit and/or consulting for financial institutions.
Solid knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting requirements, banking regulations (NBR, EBA), and banking products, including their impact on financial and regulatory reporting processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools, with the ability to work effectively with large volumes of data and multiple information sources in a complex technical environment.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different areas of the organization.
Strong analytical thinking, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills in both Romanian and English.
Results-oriented mindset, accountability for deliverables, and a continuous focus on learning and professional development.
Proactive attitude and a strong desire to contribute to process improvements and the successful implementation of change initiatives.
