Cleveland Clinic’s Environmental Services (EVS) Department is consistently ranked among the highest-performing EVS teams in healthcare. As Team Lead, you will work to create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect by ensuring all assigned facility areas are clean, fully stocked and organized. Your efforts help enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience and assist other caregivers in providing attentive patient care.
A caregiver in this position works 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:00pm to 10:30pm with full weekend rotations every other week.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Conduct general training for new caregivers in floor care, wall washing, carpet cleaning and special procedures.
- Clean patient rooms and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens and sanitizing all surfaces.
- Follow policies and procedures on patient isolation.
- Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms as necessary or designated.
- Maintain cart and equipment in clean, working condition and store in appropriate storage area when finished with shift.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one year of experience in an environmental services or housekeeping role with strong customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others in coordinating multiple tasks
Physical Requirements:
- Typical physical demands include ability to perform duties while standing or walking for majority of day, ability to push and pull equipment such as beds, trash trucks, and floor buffers and scrubbers; ability to stoop, stretch, and lift while performing duties.
- Medium Work Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
