We are searching for the best talent for a Senior Manager, Data Governance & Transformation to join our J&J Vision team. This position is based in Jacksonville, FL.
A pre-identified candidate for consideration has been identified. However, all applications will be considered.
Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Data Governance & Transformation will lead Governance, Standards, Stewardship, and Data-Quality activities required to prepare Vision for Transcend S/4HANA. The role will align Vision data practices to Transcend S/4HANA Governance Standards and the MedTech Data Governance Office, ensuring critical master data is defined, owned, cleansed, validated, and ready for migration and sustained operations.
A secondary outcome is to make Vision data ready for future advanced analytics and responsible AI use by ensuring data is trusted, consistently defined, well governed, and reusable.
You will be responsible for:
Data Governance and Standards Alignment
Translate Transcend S/4HANA Governance Standards into Vision-specific data standards, expectations, and operating routines.
Partner with the MedTech Data Governance Office to ensure Vision practices align with enterprise data policies, decision rights, stewardship expectations, and master data governance processes.
Maintain field-level Vision data standards, definitions, ownership, controlled vocabularies, and attribute expectations for priority data objects.
Create and maintain a Vision data RACI covering data owners, stewards, Department Data Leads, process leads, functional leads, and program stakeholders.
Facilitate governance forums to resolve data standard conflicts, close key data decisions, and escalate unresolved issues through the agreed governance path.
Transcend Readiness and Migration Support
Lead business-side data readiness planning for Vision Transcend deployment waves, including object readiness, standards mapping, cleansing progress, validation status, and cutover readiness inputs.
Coordinate with Transcend, IT, process, functional, migration, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, planning, finance, and local site teams to ensure data requirements are built into future-state process and system designs.
Support migration readiness gates by ensuring mandatory attributes, ownership, data-quality rules, and remediation evidence are in place before migration wave start.
Track data-related risks and issues that could affect design, migration, cutover, stabilization, or business adoption.
Data Cleansing, Quality, and Control
Plan and coordinate profiling, cleansing, remediation, validation, and reconciliation activities for priority Vision master data domains.
Define data-quality rules and acceptance criteria that support ongoing hygiene checks and prevent poor-quality data from entering core business processes.
Create dashboards or structured reports that show data completeness, standard adoption, open data issues, migration validation status, and readiness by object/site/wave.
Drive root-cause analysis and sustainable remediation of recurring data-quality issues, including process, ownership, training, and control gaps.
Data Stewardship Network and Business Adoption
Drive adoption of new data ownership, stewardship, and governance practices across Vision through influence, change management, and stakeholder engagement.
Build and coordinate a federated Vision data stewardship network through influence, including Department Data Leads, Data Owners, Data Stewards, local site representatives, and process stakeholders.
Develop practical training and communication materials for data standards, data maintenance procedures, data ownership expectations, and compliance review routines.
Ensure annual or periodic data standards reviews are completed for priority objects and that stewardship routines are embedded beyond program milestones.
Promote a business-led governance culture where data standards are treated as operational requirements, not one-time project tasks.
Success Measures / KPIs
Data readiness for Transcend: priority data objects meet agreed readiness criteria before each migration/cutover gate.
Data cleansing for Transcend: prioritized cleansing items are remediated and validated before the relevant migration wave starts.
Required data standards achieved: Vision priority objects have approved definitions, ownership, stewardship, standards mapping, and data-quality rules aligned to Transcend and MedTech governance.
Migration risk reduced: critical data defects, unresolved standard conflicts, and open key data decisions are tracked, escalated, and closed before go-live scope decisions.
Sustainable governance embedded: data RACI, stewardship routines, training materials, dashboards, and maintenance controls are established for ongoing operations.
Future-ready data foundation: Vision data assets are trusted, consistently defined, and reusable for future analytics and AI opportunities without making AI delivery the primary focus of the role.
Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required in a Production/Engineering Management discipline or relevant field.
Minimum of 8 years experience in operations, supply chain, ERP deployment, business transformation, data governance, master data management, or related business leadership roles.
