36Summary:
The NICU Milk Technician responsible for performing duties with the daily operating procedures of the NICU human milk bank, which includes processing enteral feeding orders, developing recipes according to physicians orders, preparing, and delivery. The technician ensures that products are compliant with current codes and are acceptable for use. Requisitions and inspects supplies, and materials in order to maintain inventory levels and to ensure that standards of quality are met.
Hours: 07:00-19:30 or 07:30 - 20:00 rotating shifts and some rotating weekends and holidays required.
Education & Experience:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent certificate.
Some college hours required.
1-2 years' experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
Past experience as PCT or in Food Service preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated competence in mathematical skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Experience working with computers is preferred.
Ability to perform detailed assignments, follow directions, work under pressure and readily adapt to change.
Must be able to work professionally with caregivers, families, and inter- and intra-departmental staff.
Certification/Licensure:
Current Basic Life Support BLS Certification required prior to start.
