Position Overview

The New Shop Opening (NSO) Program Specialist plays a vital role in supporting company growth by ensuring the operational readiness of all new shop locations. In this role, you will help maintain the Field Operations shop opening tracker, monitor key project milestones, and manage project data to ensure accurate visibility into the new shop pipeline for both Field Operations and HQ partners. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help coordinate deliverables, track outstanding items, communicate project updates, and identify potential risks throughout the shop opening process. You will support visibility into upcoming market growth initiatives and help improve processes that support future growth. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive communication are essential to ensuring smooth and successful shop openings.

Key Result Areas

New Shop Opening Support

  • Support the execution of new shop openings by maintaining timelines, tracking milestones, and monitoring key opening deliverables.

  • Maintain and update opening trackers, reports, and documentation to ensure accurate visibility into upcoming shop openings.

  • Assist with the coordination and preparation of Grand Opening calls, DBOAs, punch lists, and other opening readiness processes.

  • Monitor DBOA/Punchlist completion and communicate potential risks, delays, or concerns to the Program Manager.

  • Maintain critical shop information including projected opening dates, shop hours, and key opening details.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records related to shop openings, operator opportunities, market growth initiatives, and key program metrics.

  • Ensure tracking systems, reports, and databases remain accurate, organized, and up to date.

  • Support reporting efforts by gathering, updating, and validating opening data.

Operator Opportunities & Market Growth

  • Partner with the Program Manager to organize information related to future market growth, operator opportunities, and territory planning.

  • Maintain visibility into upcoming market growth initiatives and expansion opportunities.

Operational Coordination

  • Support cross-functional communication by gathering updates, sharing information, and helping ensure alignment across teams.

  • Maintain critical shop opening details to support readiness across all stakeholders.

  • Identify process gaps, inconsistencies, or administrative challenges and elevate recommendations for improvement.

  • Assist in coordinating key deliverables to ensure successful shop openings and market growth initiatives.

Administrative & Program Support

  • Organize and maintain program documentation, templates, resources, and shared files.

  • Support special projects, pilot programs, and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the New Shop Opening Program Manager.

Job Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in project management, project coordination, or QSR (quick service restaurant) operations, preferred

  • 2-3 years Dutch Bros Shop Lead (or higher) experience, preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Communications, or a related field, required.

  • Proficiency in Excel and business systems used for tracking and reporting.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in data and documentation.

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and support evolving priorities.

 

Location Requirement:

This role is located in Tempe, AZ. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days.

Physical Requirements

  • In-Office Environment: Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions

    • Must be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings 

  • Office Conditions: Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels

  • Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches.  Must be able to occasionally move or lift office items up to 25 pounds

  • Hearing Requirements: Hearing must be sufficient or correctable to ensure clear understanding of spoken information, including participating in virtual meetings and phone calls. Use of hearing aids or other assistive devices is acceptable if needed.

  • Reading and Writing Proficiency: Ability to read and write in English is essential for processing documents, drafting reports, and following up on necessary actions. Proficiency in written communication is required to handle job-related tasks effectively.

  • Vision Requirements: Vision must be adequate or correctable to perform essential job duties, such as reading documents on a computer screen and using other visual tools. Use of corrective lenses or other measures to meet visual requirements is expected if needed.

  • Technology Proficiency: Must be proficient in operating a computer and other office productivity tools such as printers, scanners, and collaboration software. 

  • Effective Communication: Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders via email, video conferencing, and other in office communication tools.
