At Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, our Advanced Practice Providers play a vital role in delivering compassionate, world-class cancer care. As an Advanced Practice Provider II, you will be a trusted partner for patients and families throughout their treatment journey, helping guide care, answer questions, and support patients during some of the most important moments in their lives.

You will work alongside a collaborative team of physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals who are dedicated to improving outcomes and bringing hope to every patient we serve.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic health conditions
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor ongoing care
Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic test results
Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the care team
Prescribe medications and help manage symptoms throughout treatment
Provide continuity of care across the patient's cancer journey
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and care plans
Serve as a clinical mentor for Advanced Practice Providers, nursing staff, residents, fellows, students, and other healthcare learners
Contribute to a team culture focused on excellence, compassion, and continuous learning

Qualifications:
Required Education and ExperienceNurse Practitioner Educational Path:
1. License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York; and
2. Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification; and
3. Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA); and
4. Master’s or higher-level degree in Nursing.
NOTE:
As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) within nine (9) months of their appointment to this title as required by Medicare.
OR
Physician Assistant Educational Path:
1. License to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York; and
2. Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) or other national certifying body recognized by the New York State Education Department; and
3. Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Physician Assistant Studies; or
4. Bachelor’s or higher-level degree and completion of a Physician Assistant Certificate Program recognized by the New York State Education Department.
AND
Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Educational Path:
The equivalent of two (2) years of full-time progressively responsible Advanced Practice Provider experience in a service line at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center or at a cancer care or acute care facility recognized as comparable by Roswell Park.
NOTE:
1. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
2. Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
